MISSIONAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

At Oak Hills, we believe that each one of us is called to serve God in a unique way, in the places we already are and through passions that tug at our heart. This “missional living” has to do with paying attention to where God is specifically calling you to enter in. Through wisdom and discernment, we begin to see our place in God’s Kingdom. And, as we seek to serve and bless others in Christ’s name, we find that we are blessed beyond what we have given—those we serve also serve us in ways we cannot even imagine.

For more information or to get involved with any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact Partner Missions Coordinator Neena Conrad.

Missional Cohort Community
The Missional Cohort is a six-month journey where you’ll join a small community of fellow disciples to discern God’s calling for you and live-out that calling in very practical ways in the places you live, work and play. It’s where intimacy with Jesus (spiritual formation) overflows into loving, serving and proclaiming the reality of the Kingdom with the people in our lives.

Powerhouse’s Woman and Children’s Transformation Center Meals Team
Commit to making just two to four meals a year for the women and children at the Powerhouse Transformation Center and begin to build relationships and consistency with the beautiful women going through this two-year residential program of empowerment and new life. We so strongly believe in what Powerhouse is doing with the Transformation Center and in the lives of our neighbors there, and we believe this is a great and easy way to serve the needs of our community.
Homeless Assistance Resource Team (HART)
Assist those experiencing homelessness in Folsom toward self-sufficiency and greater independence by working with HART of Folsom. A variety of skills and commitment levels are needed, including: mentors (walk alongside clients, listen, and encourage), outreach (go into encampments to determine needs and share information about HART), media (help manage the website and other social media), health (stay up-to-date on the mental, dental, and physical offerings), and local advocacy (work with the City of Folsom and county and state agencies).
HART Winter Shelter
Oak Hills will be hosting the HART of Folsom winter shelter all through January and will be staffing the shelter for one week during that time. We are in need of volunteers each night for overnight supervision, meal provision, and site greeters. This is a wonderful opportunity to tangibly extend the love of Christ to some of our neighbors!
Folsom's Hope
We support Folsom's Hope through their Lunch Buddy Mentoring Program and the STARS Program. Become a lunchtime mentor or after-school tutor and build relationships with students, helping meet their physical, educational, material, and spiritual needs.
